Empowering Growth: How Strategic Talent Acquisition Built Our Client's Firm from Scratch
Overview
A recently launched investment management firm based in Ontario required additional talent to build their business from the ground up. The firm's founder needed to focus on client engagement and sought our help to find a highly-functional generalist to handle a range of responsibilities, from personal assistant tasks to operational administration to implementing new business processes. For the purposes of this success story, the company will be referred to pseudonymously as 123 Capital.
Development of a Plan
Given the broad and demanding nature of the role, we recognized the need for a comprehensive recruitment process to identify the ideal candidate. A plan was crafted that involved posting engaging job descriptions to attract diverse skill sets. This passive search was supplemented by active outreach, using insights from the passive search to refine the perfect candidate's criteria.
We Execute the Plan
Our talent team drafted and posted diverse job descriptions to attract a wide pool of applicants. Utilizing our proprietary candidate assessment tools, we focused on candidates with excellent communication skills, high workload management capability, high integrity, and a personable nature. These traits were considered better success indicators than professional experience given the role's demands.
Candidates demonstrating the desired traits were interviewed by our team. Those whose goals aligned with 123 Capital’s were presented for a final interview. After a short discussion with our client, the right candidate was selected for the role. We conducted reference checks and managed the offer and negotiation phase.
Outcomes
The strategic approach to sourcing talent led 123 Capital to their ideal candidate, and clarified requirements which were initially nebulous. Our client gained a new hire possessing the competencies and attitudes to add significant value to the organization, with minimal resource expenditure on his part.
Our role as a Human Resource division led to the successful hiring and onboarding of a key staff member, while our client continued pushing their business growth. This partnership proved successful, demonstrating our expertise in fulfilling niche roles, and was instrumental in our client's growth initiatives.
