Driving Performance: How Organizational Design Fostered Growth at Our Client's Clinic
Overview
Our client is a renowned optometrist’s clinic located in B.C., operating for over six decades. They aimed to enhance their team performance to bolster their established reputation. However, achieving this required understanding their employees' attitudes and behaviours, and how these impact their operational capacity and expertise.
Development of a Plan
We understood that understanding employee behaviour was crucial to improving team performance. We formulated a plan utilizing our proprietary testing tools to assess employee attitudes and behaviours. The use of three modules from our testing suite – Learned Optimism, Personality Style Indicator, and Big 5 – was decided to be most useful for analyzing the optometry clinic’s employees.
We Execute the Plan
Our team assigned score benchmarks to each role at the client company and compared these benchmarks with the results of the employee assessments. Detailed explanations of the assessments, role breakdowns, results, and result analyses were presented to the senior management team.
Furthermore, we conducted an interactive session with the management group, shedding light on operational blind spots and sharing best practices for utilizing our assessment tools. We also provided one-on-one training with each manager, focusing on how our insights could better their day-to-day staff management.
Outcomes
The comprehensive analysis enabled the client company to understand their employees' personal characteristics and their performance impact quantitatively. This understanding led them to identify gaps in their organizational chart and areas for recruitment process improvement.
By integrating our proprietary assessment tools into their operations, they achieved this outcome with minimal effort and created idealized candidate profiles for future hiring efforts. This partnership was thus mutually beneficial and instrumental in driving our client's growth initiatives.
